A Calm Makeover with OSB Lacquer Paint and a Black Exposed Ceiling 🎼 | OSB 락카 페인트와 노출천장 검정으로 차분하게 분위기 변신🎼

Hello, this is Kari Paint. This project involved finishing the paintwork for the entire fifth floor of a dance academy commercial space located in Gunja. 😊

안녕하세요, 카리페인트입니다. 이번 현장은 군자에 위치한 댄스 아카데미 상가 5층 전체 도장 마감 작업이었어요 😊

After leveling the exposed ceiling and walls with two rounds of putty, we finished them in a calm matte black water-based spray coating, while the OSB plywood and furniture were given a premium feel with clear lacquer coating and silver lacquer, then toned down overall with black lacquer.

노출 천장과 벽체는 투퍼티로 면을 잡은 뒤 수성 무광 검정 뿜칠로 차분하게 마감했고, OSB 합판과 가구는 락카 투명 코팅과 락카 은분으로 고급 분위기를 연출하고, 락카 검정으로 전체적인 톤 다운을 시켰습니다.

After cleaning up the surfaces, we reduced uneven areas with two coats of putty and first addressed the spots that would stand out under the lighting.

면 정리 후 투퍼티로 단차를 줄이고, 조명에 비칠 때 튀는 부분을 먼저 잡아갔습니다.

In spaces like academies, where long corridors and rooms repeat, surface preparation is quite important because of the light coming in from the sides. The client wanted a finish without sanding, but that would have hurt the overall consistency and lowered the finish quality too much, so we could not do it that way! After the two rounds of putty, we smoothed the surface finely through sanding. Especially for finishes like stain or clear lacquer coating, which show the original texture of the surface, sanding is extremely important, so we put a lot of effort into it!

아카데미 학원처럼 긴 복도와 룸이 반복되는 공간은 옆면에서 들어오는 빛 때문에 면 정리가 꽤 중요해요. (고객님은 샌딩 없이 마감을 원하셨지만, 그렇게 하기엔 통일감을 해치기도 하고 마감값이 너무 낮아지기 때문에 그렇게 할 수는 없었습니다!) 투퍼티 후에는 샌딩으로 표면을 곱게 다듬었습니다. 특히 피도면의 질감을 그대로 연출하는 스테인이나 락카 투명 코팅 같은 경우는 샌딩이 매우매우 중요하기 때문에 이에 공을 많이 쏟아내었습니다!

Areas where water-based paint would be a problem, such as window frames and OSB furniture, need to be carefully masked. For a full fifth-floor site, the work path is long, so it is safer to check and move through one section at a time. Then, the exposed ceiling and walls were sprayed with matte black water-based paint. In areas like exposed ceilings, where ducts, pipes, and ceiling structures are complex, it is difficult to reach deep sections evenly with only a roller, so an airless spray method is often a good fit.

창틀, OSB 가구처럼 수성 도료가 묻으면 곤란한 구간은 보양을 꼼꼼히 해야 합니다. 5층 전체 현장은 동선이 길어서 한 구간씩 확인하며 넘어가는 방식이 안전합니다. 그리고, 노출 천장과 벽체는 수성 무광 검정으로 뿜칠했습니다. 노출 천장 처럼 덕트와 배관, 천장 구조가 복잡한 곳은 롤러만으로는 깊은 곳까지 균일하게 들어가기 어려워 에어리스 방식이 잘 맞는 편이에요.

After finishing, the reduced light reflection gave the space a heavier feel and created the focused atmosphere typical of a dance academy. The black surfaces in the photos still retained the rough exposed texture while giving the overall tone a more organized look. Since the wood-chip pattern is the charm of OSB furniture, we added protection with a clear lacquer coating rather than covering it with color. After coating, the surface looked slightly firmer, and the warm wood texture stood out more clearly in contrast with the black background.

마감 후에는 빛 반사가 줄어들면서 공간이 묵직해지고, 댄스 아카데미 특유의 집중되는 분위기가 만들어졌습니다. 사진 속 검정 면은 거친 노출 질감이 살아 있으면서도 전체 톤이 정리된 느낌이 나더라구요. OSB 가구는 나무칩 패턴이 매력이라 색으로 덮기보다 락카 투명 코팅으로 보호감을 더했습니다. 코팅 후에는 표면이 살짝 단단해 보이고, 따뜻한 우드 질감이 검정 배경과 대비되어 더 선명하게 보였어요. 😉
