Louis Vuitton designed the showcase around three color families: orange, white, and black. These photos show the paint finishing work taking place a few days before the showcase opened. The orange, in particular, dominated the overall atmosphere, and we applied multiple coats to the structures and walls to achieve the perfect color, bringing the Louis Vuitton showcase space to life.
주황색, 하얀색, 검정색 세 가지 색상 계열로 쇼케이스를 구성한 루이비통. 쇼케이스 시작 며칠 전, 페인트 마감하는 모습입니다. 특히나 주황색이 전체적인 분위기를 압도했는데요, 구조물이나 벽체에 색상을 여러번 칠하여 완벽한 색상을 구현했고, 루이비통 쇼케이스 공간에 생명을 불어 넣었습니다.

What was difficult during the showcase work?
쇼케이스 시공 중 어려웠던 점?
When carrying out paintwork for a showcase, the positions of walls and furniture often change depending on site conditions, so there are many cases where certain areas have to be reworked from the putty stage. However, at this site, the custom-mixed orange color did not come through properly with just one or two coats. In general, when colors such as orange, purple, or yellow are used, or when paint is mixed to a specific color, it can take as many as six or seven coats for the color to appear correctly. Can you see the blotchy wall? Even after applying two or three coats of paint, the desired color still did not appear, so this was a time-consuming site.
쇼케이스 페인트를 진행하다보면 현장 상황에 따라 벽이나 가구들의 위치가 자주 변경되어 부분적으로, 퍼티부터 재작업을 진행해야 하는 경우가 많습니다. 다만, 이번 현장은 조색된 ‘주황색’ 색상이 한두 번 칠해서는 제대로된 색상이 입혀지지 않았습니다. 보통 주황색, 보라색, 노란색 등의 색상이나 특정 색으로 조색된 경우 그 색이 제대로 나오기 위해서 많으면 6-7번까지 페인트 칠을 진행해야 합니다. 얼룩덜룩한 벽체가 보이나요? 두 세 번 페인트를 칠했음에도 원하는 색상이 나오지 않아 시간이 많이 드는 현장이었습니다.

Although it varies depending on site conditions, it is difficult to use spray painting at showcase sites like this where many people are coming and going. Also, because showcases are carried out over a short period, we do not apply full putty and proceed only up to two rounds of putty. We make decisions in consultation with the client by choosing methods that reduce labor, stay within the fixed schedule, and achieve the highest possible quality.
현장 상황에 따라 차이가 있지만, 많은 사람이 오가는 이러한 쇼케이스 현장은 뿜칠을 진행하기 어렵습니다. 또한, 단기간 진행하는 쇼케이스 특성상 올퍼티를 진행하지 않고 투퍼티까지만 진행합니다. 공수를 줄이고, 정해진 시간 내에, 최대한 높은 퀄리티를 만들 수 있는 방법을 택하여 소비자와 협의하며 의사결정을 진행합니다.

We successfully finished the Louis Vuitton showcase paintwork. Although I was not able to see the Louis Vuitton showcase held in Seongsu in person, the music from the sound test before rehearsal was so cool that I looked it up and found that the showcase had already been held overseas, with the same atmosphere as the one in Seongsu. Take a look for fun and see how it differs from the Seongsu site!
성공적으로 루이비통 쇼케이스 페인트 시공을 마무리했습니다. 비록 성수에서 진행한 루이비통 쇼케이스를 직관하지 못했지만, 리허설 전 사운드 테스트하던 음악이 너무 멋있어서 검색하다보니 해외에서 이미 진행되었고, 성수와 동일한 느낌을 연출한 쇼케이스를 찾을 수 있었습니다. 성수 현장과 어떻게 다른지 재미삼아 한 번 살펴보세요!
